Terms
Last updated 9 August 2026
These are the terms for using chattr, made by Userade, LLC. Using the app means agreeing to them.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or over. You must use your own phone number and your own photographs, and the profile picture has to be of you.
Your account
Your phone number is your account. Keep access to it, and add a recovery email so that losing the number does not lose the account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
What you put on it
You keep ownership of your photographs and everything you write. You give us permission to show them to other people in the app, which is the only thing we do with them.
Do not put up anything that is not yours to put up, anything sexual, anything violent, anything involving someone under 18, or anybody's contact details. Photographs are checked automatically before they appear, and that check is not perfect in either direction.
How to behave
Wave at people you would be glad to talk to. Do not harass anybody, do not impersonate anybody, do not use chattr to sell anything, and do not try to work out where somebody is. Ignoring a wave is always allowed and is never rude: that is what the hour is for.
You can block anybody, at any time, and they are not told.
What it does not promise
Distances are estimates. They can be wrong, and they are deliberately imprecise. chattr does not check who anybody is beyond verifying a phone number and looking at a photograph, so use the judgement you would use meeting anybody new. Meeting somebody in person is your decision and your risk.
The app is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available or free of faults.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time in Settings, and everything goes with it. We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why where we can.
Limits
To the extent the law allows, Userade, LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of chattr. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes and the app will say so.
